Our Classes

 

All children's classes last for 30 minutes except the adult training sessions, which last 1 hour.  For help choosing a suitable class for yourself or your child, please contact us.

 

 

Classes For Children
 
Seal Pups
Parent and child classes for very young children or timid pre-school age.
 
Seal Cubs
A class for pre-school children without parent, minimum age 3 years. There is a teacher/pupil ratio of 1 to 4. The assistant or teacher is usually in the water. Parents wait behind the barrier to view their childs class.Waiting lists for this class can be long.
 
Beginners
For non swimmers and those who can swim less than 10 metres. This class is for children of school age upwards. Usually 8 pupils per class, with the teacher on the poolside depending on the needs of the pupils.
 
First Improvers
A class for pupils who can confidently swim 10 metres both front and back (Hatch End is deeper than most pools, so not all children can stand in this depth).
 
Deep Water Improvers
Stroke improvement for those who can swim at least 50 metres and are confident in deeper water. They also need a good idea of how to swim two different strokes.
 
Advanced Improvers
A class to perfect the strokes and skills of those who can swim at least 100 metres and who have proficiency in 2 of the main strokes.
 
Training Session
A length class for older children to perfect swimming technique and improve fitness through training.
Classes For Adults
 
Beginners
For non swimmers and those who cannot swim 10 metres confidently on their front and back.
 
Improvers
Stroke improvement classes for those who can swim 10m, gradual introduction of deep water skills.
 
Advanced
Confident deep water swimmers who need some stroke correction.
 
Training Sessions
Length sessions for confident deep water swimmers to improve fitness.
